Special Interest Groups:
Important Information about these groups ...
- Even though we are a “men’s club”, it is up to each individual interest group to decide if they would like to
invite spouses. In the event where space is limited, then AmigOs members will have the first opportunity to
attend. Only after a specified “cut-off date” will spouses be invited to fill any open spaces.
- All club activities and groups are ONLY open to GVR members. If there is a special event or activity where
a non-GVR member wishes to attend, then they can pay the group leader a $4 fee and must sign a waiver of
liability. This fee and waiver must then be turned into GVR within 30 days.
- Group Leaders: If you wish to have an e-mail announcement sent out to the club members, please send it
to club secretary, Fred Monique at fmonique@new.rr.com

One of the best things about the AmigOs Men’s Club are the unlimited number of special interest groups that we can have.
If you have a hobby, interest, or skill that at least one other member shares with you then you can start a group. Each group can decide when to meet, how often to meet, and what to do within the group. One person is chosen as the chair and together hopefully will expand the size of the group. Mike Malenfant has compiled the interests of our current members into a spreadsheet. If you wish to start a group with others who share a similar interest, feel free to call or e-mail each other and get something started. Once you have your group, contact the club’s Special Interest Committee Chair to make it official.

The objective of the Wine Group is to bring to our members an awareness and knowledge of the wines of Arizona through the process of: informative presentations, tastings and tours and festivals. It our hope that we can benefit from these experiences by realizing cost savings when buying wine and tickets to wine events. There is the possibility of coordinating with the Arizona Wine Guild which has clubs in Tucson and Phoenix and may be interested in an alliance in Green Valley. Our first activity will be a visit to the “Off the Vine-Arizona Wine Festival”. Details to be announced shortly.
The group leader is Chuck Martin who is the owner of Winefest Ltd. and part owner of Champoeg Vineyards in Oregon. We are happy to have as a co-chair Paul Kattge, who’s experience with Gourmet Clubs in California will allow us to provide top of the line tastings. For more information you can e-mail Chuck at chazmartin40@gmail.com |
Learn about gun safety, confidence, and proficiency through regular range firing exercises. We also seek to ensure that each member
understands state and federal laws regarding their rights to own and bear fire arms, and that they respect the rights of others through responsible gun ownership. E-mail: Ira Cochran at ... IraDavid51@gmail.com. |

Bring your wife, girlfriend, or significant other and join us for monthly couples activities and “date nights” including: dinner and a movie, dancing, plays/concerts, local events, and more. Last month we had a burger and movie date night. Twelve people joined us for dinner at Triple Play and then we saw “The Greatest Showman”. We are skipping February since we have the Valentine’s Dinner Dance.
